This is how important your messaging is…

Before working with us, Zo was generating 4–10 leads per year.

Yes, per year.

Now, to be fair, his offer wasn’t exactly mass-market.

He was selling fractional CFO services to audio/video event production companies.

That’s:

  • A niche audience

  • A high-ticket service

  • A longer sales cycle

So you wouldn’t expect hundreds of inbound leads.

But still…

4–10 leads per year isn’t great.

Here’s What Changed

When he started working with us, we didn’t immediately rebuild his funnel.

We didn’t launch ads.

We didn’t overhaul his tech stack.

We started with messaging.

Things like:

  • How he explained his offer.

  • How he positioned the value.

  • How he communicated the problem.

And asked questions and thought through things across everything:

  • His landing page

  • His event presentations

  • His overall narrative

The Result

Within one month… he generated 5 leads.

We didn’t create a new funnel or increase spend or anything like that.

We simply got much clearer and more specific with his messaging.

Why This Happens

Most firms assume their problem is volume.

More traffic, ads, and outreach.

But if the message isn’t landing, more volume just amplifies the problem.

You don’t fix weak messaging with more distribution.

You fix it by making it more relevant.

Because when your message is broad, it gets filtered out.

People don’t think:

“This is wrong.”

They think:

“This isn’t for me.”

And they move on.

What Good Messaging Does

Good messaging creates recognition.

It makes the right person stop and think:

“This is exactly what I’ve been dealing with.”

It connects your service to their real-world problems.

Not abstract benefits.

Not generic claims.

But specific, lived experiences.

That’s what moves someone from passive reader…

To active lead.

The Bigger Takeaway

If your pipeline feels inconsistent, don’t assume you need more leads.

Start by asking:

“Is my message actually resonating?”

Because Zo didn’t need more traffic.

He needed better positioning.

And once that clicked, the results followed quickly.

Broad messaging that applies to everyone…

Ends up resonating with no one.

Tighten your message, clarify the value, and speak directly to the right audience.

That’s what unlocks growth.
